El León Pardo
Bgan his musical history at the age of 8, he did it empirically with the gaita wanting to be a saxophonist, his maternal grandfather was a saxophonist and it was he, Jorge Raúl Vásquez Anillo, who inherited a saxophone, the same that he later stole a teacher they had hired to teach him; the saxophone was not, El León tried again when he entered a school at the age of 9 years with a musical emphasis in Cartagena, but when he did not find space available to receive saxophone lessons, he received the trumpet, an instrument that he did not choose but that He guided him.
With the trumpet El León began to build his musical career with projects such as Velandia y la Tigra by Edson Velandia, whom he met after finishing university (where he studied Classical Trumpet and Symphonic Composition) and with whom he began to play and become known in the music scene nationally and internationally. But it was the gaita, unquestionably, the instrument with which this whole story began, the same one that makes its way today with the release of Acid Cumbia (2017), a debut album that after five years of continuous and dedicated work, sees the light to write the first step of a new beginning, where besides the loves you will find in each one of the songs that compose it, there are the gaita and the trumpet, to those who join other instruments from their native Cartagena."
